The purpose of this program is to ensure that individuals who will take part in fundamental activities such as scientific research, testing, healthcare practices, education, and publication involving laboratory animals are qualified to apply ethical standards related to the methods and materials to be used and to work in accordance with ethical principles.
Researchers in Category A will be provided with training on the legislation and ethical rules to be followed while working with laboratory animals, as well as on the animals’ anatomy, physiology, histology, and biochemical characteristics.
In addition, information on diseases, care and feeding, cleaning, reproduction, basic and special study models, and the methods applied in experiments will be covered both theoretically and practically.
During the course, mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits will be used.
Researchers, academic staff, and health technicians who wish to conduct education, research, practice, and testing using laboratory animals, or who contribute to these processes by handling and observing laboratory animals, may participate in the course.
Theoretical Courses: They will be conducted online in cooperation with GUDAM and Gazi University Distance Education Center (GUZEM).
Practical Courses and Exam: They will be held at the Gazi University Laboratory Animals Breeding and Experimental Research Center.
